What If Your Light Has Been Waiting for the Right Moment?
Trusting the rhythm of your becoming—what feels like hiding may be sacred timing
As Mother Moon reaches her fullest expression, her light illuminates what’s been hidden in the darkness—not just in the land, but within ourselves.
It is an opportunity to bring forth the parts of us that have been hiding.
Over the last month, I’ve been noticing what’s been coming up for me. It’s not that I carry a lot of darkness that I need to fear—quite the opposite. What I’m feeling is the power, my medicine, beginning to rise.
To be clear, I am not shy when it comes to my work in the world. In the confines of the treatment room—when working one-on-one—I will meet anyone, anywhere, anytime. This is a heartfelt joy for me, when a client is willing to go to the depths of their bracing patterns, negative beliefs, emotions, and pain. This is the most sacred of places; the most sacred of relationships between client and therapist.
I’m no stranger to being seen, speaking my truth, and letting my medicine flow—whether hopping on a live YouTube video, being interviewed, or teaching a class. And yet, here I am, feeling another layer of emergence.
Whenever we level up, the old and familiar patterns that once kept us safe tend to reappear. Right now, I feel we’re being collectively called up. Healers, artists, sensitives—it’s time to emerge and be of service. And to level up our authenticity.
Here’s the thing—leveling up can look like anything. We can walk through the initiation into our deeper medicine gifts through many doorways. We all carry a deep well of gifts, and how you choose to express them in the world is entirely up to you. But one thing is certain: you can’t express your medicine and hide it at the same time.
It’s like having one foot on the gas and one foot on the brake—an energetic contradiction that can create pain or discomfort in the body/mind system.
As Mother Moon—Mama Killa (pronounced Mama Keya)—shines the fullness of her light upon the Earth, I am feeling this truth deeply. My daily practices of painting, writing, and sitting at my mesa help me open even wider to see what is illuminated within me.
I pay attention to the subtleties that alight in my awareness.
It’s a tuning in, a refining of what I’ve already worked with and come to know. Archetypal parts of myself that once remained in the shadows are now coming into the light.
I often tell my in-person clients: “Even though you’ve done so much work around these issues, if they’re still present, they’re still calling you.” Think of your body like an archeological site—when you work with her, she will reveal the hidden treasures you weren’t ready to see. Now you are ready. The shadow comes with the light.
As an example from my own life: I shared in my last post that I created an abundance altar. I knew this work would be nonlinear, and I wasn’t expecting an immediate windfall. My intention is to let go of the outcome and receive the teaching from the lineage around abundance.
And sure enough, what’s rising to the surface first isn’t financial—it’s the quiet ways I’ve undervalued my time, my energy, my worth. The imbalance in how much I give without receiving in return. This, too, is abundance work. And it is sacred.
I love working with the unseen. I am empowered as I experience my autonomy, gently held by perspectives still unseen by me. The universe is a mirror—a cosmic echo, reflecting you back to yourself, offering the exact experience you ask for—even the things you ask for unconsciously.
It behooves us to cultivate our relationship with our own shadow. This is the fertile soil where your medicine takes root.
The journey of walking with your shadow is multidimensional, full of opportunities to understand how and why you create what you create. When we become aware of our unconscious patterns, we bring the shadow into the light. Release happens—in the mind, in the body—and that, my friends, is abundance too.
I think this is common knowledge. But when you work with the knowledge, it becomes embodied. There are so many books, speakers, and teachers on the subject of manifesting and abundance—I know, I’ve probably read most of them.
But it wasn’t until I walked the path to create abundance that I began to receive the deeper medicine of it. And it’s not what I thought.
I won’t spoil this for you by tying it up with a bow and speaking from the mountaintop. This is a journey you get to choose for yourself.
But I can say this: even though the journey may stir chaos, fear, resentment, anger—all the things—you are ready for it all. Keep going, in the light.
Remember, you truly are a brilliant, magnificent, shining light.
With love and cosmic dreaming,
Deborah
