Dearest Creator Spirit,
I recognize you for who you truly are– just like me, a creator spirit. I am inviting you up to claim this aspect of yourself. Can you begin to see yourself as a spirit who creates?
We are all creators and we are spirit; we are one mind–diverse, connected and separate. Each of us is living our own separate reality together. Each one of us creates through our own view of the same play–how we experience this drama, what we think of it and the story we share about it, is our expression–our creation. As we grow in our awareness of our individual selves, it seems our next step is to claim our power to create.
When you claim your power to create, you will see that it is not the power over anything or anyone. Power to create is not to inflict your will upon another to make them see it your way or create it the way you want it to be. That is the ego and while the ego is an important part of our experience, it is not meant to be in charge of how or what we create in our lives.
I am talking about giving deference to our soul, the wisest part of us. The soul is the part of us that sees the bigger picture, because it is the bigger picture. So that thing you think you, “MUST HAVE YESTERDAY!” may not be what is in service to the experience that your soul wants to have here.
How do we know what our soul wants?
When we cultivate a relationship with our soul, knowing what our soul wants is a lot easier to discover. Like any other relationship we have, we must create the time to be with ourselves as soul-to hear the gentle whispers from our soul.
I was painting the other day, and I kept hearing a recurring statement in my mind, “learn to whisper,” it said. I was painting and discovering through nuanced connection, paintbrush to canvas, I could make marks that were like shouts or gentle whispers, and all the in-betweens. There was something that my soul was teaching me as I was painting, that I may not have heard any other way. It is our job to find the way to connect with this part of us that sees beyond what the ego can see.
This experience in the studio asked me to expand the teaching into my life and the creation of it. Where else can I whisper? Where do I shout? and Where am I when I am in between the shout and the whisper? These were the questions I walked with for the day.
These questions unfolded for me as I dove into a practice of becoming a holy witness to my own way of being throughout the day. What I am learning is that a whisper is just as powerful, or maybe even more potent than a shout, depending on the circumstances.
The expression of the world around us
As I find myself in a world where there is an increased feeling of chaos, angst, and fear, I witness it and shift myself back to my power to create. I create how I feel, what I think and the story I am living through. I do not choose to give my power to the shouting fear of one possible outcome. All is unformed. I can feed the fear with my thoughts, actions and energy or I can stand in my power as a creator, look at all of this in neutrality with the knowing that other possibilities exist in the unknown, unformed.
Repeat after me, “I am one part of creation and I stand in my power and choose to create from love -I let go of fear.”
You have this power too! Say the above again, make it a mantra! It is a choice in every moment, some moments provide more of a challenge to stay steady than others. Remember it is a practice.
Getting it wrong to get it right
Practice, practice, practice is our friend and is the action we can take that will connect us with the soul or anything else, really. Creating connection with the soul is creating a relationship with it, creating a relationship requires practice–showing up and being present.
Maybe you fear you aren’t good enough. Was there ever a time when you just picked something up and was automatically good at it? Maybe there was. Maybe you had to work at it.
In either case, in order to expand natural ability (or no ability) and grow–practicing, getting it wrong and utter failure is part of that growth. I know I am not saying anything you haven’t heard before, but what will you need in order to create from this place of knowing?
Is it practice?
Hmmmm…..maybe!
It is the waxing moon
I have timed the release of this post to coincide with the energy of the first quarter moon. Depending on when you are reading this, you may be experiencing this energy. Let’s take a breath together, right now, be in this moment and feel this energy. The moon is waxing, becoming full, can you feel the surge of energy that is becoming. Does it feel good to you? Do you feel intimidated? Something else? Just notice what you are feeling, without giving it a story (resist the urge to make it mean anything) Now, how do you want to express this through your experience? You are the weaver, weaving this throughout all that you think, do, and be.
Whether you are using the power of the whisper—from love or fear; the power of a shout—from wisdom or the need to be witnessed and heard; or the choice to bear silent witness—all are choices we get to create with. Just as a mark on the page can be barely visible, or so pronounced that it is all the viewer sees, you are the chooser of the expression through you. And that, makes you the Creator Spirit of your life.
